Johnston North look after Sunflower’s entire web presence.

Website

Johnston North designed and built a new website for Sunflower Learning to showcase their impressive product collection. The new design also brought the website up-to-date with Sunflower Learning’s brand.

The old website required an expert knowledge of HTML in order to make any changes. This limited the number of people within Sunflower who could update the website. We implemented an intuitive and easy to use content management system that now lets everyone update the website.

The website also has the ability to detect where a visitor is located and display content relevant to their country.

Licence Manager

Sunflower Learning sell their software all over the world. This presents unique problems when it comes to preventing piracy and managing customer licences.

Working in close partnership with Sunflower Learning, Johnston North developed a bespoke online application to allow customers to activate and transfer their licences online. The easy to use tool also enables Sunflower’s distributors to purchase and manage licences.

Sunflower Online

Sunflower Online is Sunflower Learning’s pioneering virtual learning environment. It is their main platform for delivering their multimedia software online. The application allows teachers to create, set and mark assignments from their students. Stuart Johnston was the original architect of the system which was nominated for an award in 2006.

In 2008 Sunflower asked Johnston North to provide ongoing technical support for the application. One of our first projects was to enable it to support multiple languages. To date the application has successfully been translated into Welsh and Swedish.
